How is Sinuplasty Surgery with Balloon Performed?

Balloon sinuplasty surgery is performed under general anesthesia with the help of a camera through the nose, and the operation is completed without any incisions or stitches. The balloon placed at the tip of the catheter, accompanied by a camera, opens at the mouth of the clogged sinus, allowing that area to be expanded, the inflammation in the sinus is left to natural drainage and cleaned after the expansion, the procedure is completed without any incision or bleeding.

Which Patients is it Performed on?

It is the most frequently preferred method in cases diagnosed as chronic sinusitis and selected as isolated sinusitis.  

How Long Does the Surgery Take?     

Balloon sinuplasty surgery is performed in a time varying between 1 - 1.5 hours, depending on the prevalence of sinusitis.

Is there a tampon in the nose after the surgery?

After these surgeries, there is no tampon left in the nose.

Can Balloons Be Used in Nasal Polyp Surgery?

Balloon sinuplasty is not a suitable method in nasal polyp surgeries. Since polyps have an occlusive effect by creating mass density, surgeries performed with microdebrider give more successful results.
