Istanbul Nose Aesthetics

The history of rhinoplasty dates back to 600 B.C. in Egypt. Nose dressings are mentioned in papyrus hieroglyphs. Rhinoplasty, whose history dates back to B.C., has taken its place today by making a serious progress in this long process. It is still among the most popular surgeries all over the world.

The nose is an organ that is located in the middle of our face and basically affects our external appearance and facial expression, as well as allowing us to breathe functionally. When planning rhinoplasty, providing a comfortable and open airway should be the first step.

There are 4 main rules to be successful in rhinoplasty.

  1. To build a nose with full support structures and no future collapse and bending.
  2. Making a nose that breathes comfortably with prioritized functionality
  3. To make an aesthetic nose suitable for the person's face, without disturbing the basic support points.
  4. When looking at the person, rhinoplasty should not be obvious

The 4 rules we have mentioned above are the rules that I guide myself before my operations and constitute the secret of success. I have a detailed conversation with my patients about their pre-operative complaints, expectations and what can be done, then I talk about what can be done through special programs in the computer environment on the photographs we took, and as soon as are on the same page, we determine the operation day together and carry out the process.

What Do I Recommend Before Nose Aesthetics?

I advise my patients not to take anticoagulants, aspirin and similar drugs at least 10 days before rhinoplasty. I prescribe a pre-operative anti-bruise face cream and recommend starting this cream 1 week before the operation.

How Long Does the Surgery Take?

During the operation, I use special tools planned in different sizes for each nose, and I finish the operation time between 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the difficulty level of the nose, and I minimize the bruises associated with it. I do not use nasal packing, so that the patient can breathe comfortably.

Is There Pain and Bruising After the Surgery?

After the measures I mentioned above, bruising and pain are very small. I apply a special cooling mask immediately after the operation, this minimizes bruising and swelling.

When Can You Get Back to Work After Surgery?

I remove the nose plaster after an average of 7-10 days and after this period, I use edema reducing and skin-colored tapes on the nose skin. Considering these, work life can be resumed after 7 days at the earliest.

When Can a Bath be Done?

We do not want water contact with the face due to the plaster on the nose, it is possible to take a shower from the neck level immediately after the operation.
